Last week I was asked by good mate and fellow artists DUKE/STYLE and Brett Fanning to participate in a HUGE graffiti jam in Geelong at an abandoned and neglected powerhouse.
New owner Ian has resurrected this beautiful building and with a little help from his friends , is turning this amazing space into a desperately needed arts hub for the Geelong region.
Over 50+ artists turned up on the weekend to camp, converse and paint this awesome space. The creative energy was palpable and the outcome of just 1 weekend out of many until complete, was phenomenal! I know that I lifted my game because i was pushed and encouraged by crew and fellow graffiti artists from all over Australia and even some overseas guests!
I cant wait to get back there and paint some more and help with the clean up and transformation of a much needed space. I may even end up begging for studio space 😉 How can you beat a HUGE cathedral like space, right on the beach that you can paint freely and large and even park up my bus if needed 😉
So exciting!!! A HUGE thank you to Ian and his helpers/partners for the invitation and to DUKE and Brett for all their hard work and organisation and to SIGMA 80 paint for the dopest shades and pressure available in Oz!!
More photos to come of all the amazing work!
